Gary Grossnickle’s connection to Costa Rica began with a surf trip in the early 2000s, when he immediately fell in love with the country’s culture, lifestyle, and Pacific coast. Originally from Carlsbad, California, Gary knew from those early visits that Costa Rica would eventually become his home. For years, he worked as a crane operator in the West Texas oil fields, returning to Costa Rica during his time off and steadily deepening his connection to the country. In 2017, he made Costa Rica his permanent home, purchasing a residence in Playas del Coco and marrying his wife, Karla Jimenez. He later left the oil industry to pursue his passion for the ocean, establishing a successful career as a fishing charter captain and owner of Papagayo Ocean Adventures. Through years spent on the waters of the Gulf of Papagayo, Gary has developed an intimate knowledge of the region’s coastline, communities, lifestyle, and natural surroundings. He now brings that firsthand local expertise and genuine connection to the Papagayo region to his work with Tres Amigos Realty Group, providing clients with a unique perspective on both the area and the opportunities it offers. A permanent resident of Costa Rica and member of CRGAR, Gary is proud to help clients discover and invest in the same extraordinary region he chose to call home.
